GPC Licenses Acticon Patents to D-Link, Several Other Companies

SUFFERN, NY, April 26, 2001 - Acticon Technologies LLC (Acticon) has entered into a license agreement with D-Link Systems, Inc., an Irvine, CA vendor of PC card modems and LAN adaptors, and several other companies. General Patent Corporation (GPC), an intellectual property management firm headquartered in Suffern, New York, represented Acticon in these transactions.

"The Acticon smart connector technology and the patents that protect it continue to be of significant value to domestic and international companies involved in computer connectivity and communications," said Alexander Poltorak, GPC's Chairman and CEO.

Other companies that have recently licensed the Acticon patents include BroMax Communications, Inc., an Irvine, California vendor of PC card modems and LAN adaptors; Eicon Technology Corporation, a Montreal, Canada vendor of plug-in connection I/O modem cards (Toronto Stock Exchange: EIC); Lastar.com, Inc. d/b/a Cables To Go, a Dayton, Ohio vendor of USB adapter cables/connectors; Cadmus Micro, Inc., an Ontario, CA vendor of PCMCIA cards; and Freecom Technologies GmbH, a Berlin, Germany vendor of smart connectors and cables.

"We are happy to extend licenses on these strategic patents to D-Link and our other new licensees" said Dr. Steven Farago, Acticon's chief technologist. "A non-exclusive license is available on favorable terms under our smart connector patents."

More than 85% of PC cards are licensed today under the Acticon patents. GPC has successfully represented Acticon in 28 licensing transactions and five litigations.
