April 10, 2014 - TouchTunes Interactive Networks, which was sued by Arachnid Inc. in 2007 for patent infringement, not only won its lawsuit but was granted "several million dollars" in attorneys' fees, according to a TouchTunes news release.

Arachnid sued TouchTunes and several other computer jukebox companies for patent infringement. Some companies settled with Arachnid, but TouchTunes maintained that Arachnid's charges were unsupported. In October 2013, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled in favor of TouchTunes, after which TouchTunes filed a motion for attorneys' fees and other legal expenses.

The court found that Arachnid had maintained its litigation in bad faith and granted the motion this month. The exact amount of the award will be determined by the judge.
