February 22, 2014 - Apple and Samsung's top executives attended a meeting hosted by a mediator earlier this month, but were unable to come to an agreement in the two-year-old patent lawsuit.
So far, two juries have found that Samsung infringed Apple's patents on iPhone and iPad features. In November 2013, a jury in Silicon Valley awarded Apple $290 million in damages for a total award of $930 million. Samsung intends to appeal that verdict. Samsung has also sued Apple for infringement in courts in North America, Europe and Asia.
Both Apple and Samsung remain open to mediation, but with the latest breakdown in settlement talks, a trial in March is likely.
