February 15, 2012 - Apple filed yet another patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung last week, this time requesting a preliminary injunction on the Galaxy Nexus device.
The lawsuit claims infringement of four patents: one on "data tapping" that allows you to click a phone number to make a call, one on unified search as used in Siri, one related to word completion that helps speed up touchscreen text entry, and one on the slide-to-unlock feature. Three of the patents were issued since last September.
If Apple's motion for preliminary injunction is successful, Samsung would be blocked from selling the Galaxy Nexus in the United States until the court reaches a decision in the lawsuit - or until the allegedly-infringing features are removed from the device.
