February 2, 2012 - Motorola filed a new patent infringement lawsuit against Apple, alleging that the iPhone 4S and iCloud service violate six Motorola patents between them. Two of the patents are allegedly infringed by the iPhone 4S and four by the iCloud.
Motorola had planned to append these charges to the ongoing lawsuit it filed against Apple in 2010, which targeted Apple's App Store and iOS, but filed the new lawsuit after the judge in the original suit requested Motorola do so.
The patents-at-suit relate to various aspects of syncing the data stored on the iPhone wirelessly via a concealed external antenna.
