May 3, 2012 - Nokia filed patent suits against HTC with the U.S. International Trade Commission, and against HTC, Research in Motion Ltd. and Viewsonic Corp. in the U.S. and Germany. The lawsuits cover a total of 45 patents Nokia claims are infringed.
According to Bloomberg Businessweek, the patents-at-suit cover aspects of dual-function antennas, power management and multimode radios, and software features including application stores, multitasking, navigation, conversational message display, dynamic menus, data encryption and retrieval of e-mail attachments on a mobile device.
Six of the patents in Nokia's newest lawsuits were part of a lawsuit against Apple, which settled the litigation last year with a one-time payment and royalties.
