Worlds.com Sues NCSoft for Infringing Key Virtual Worlds Patent

SUFFERN, N.Y., December 31, 2008 — General Patent Corporation (GPC), a leading patent licensing and enforcement firm, announced today that it filed a patent infringement lawsuit against NCSoft Corp. of Austin, TX on behalf of its client, Worlds.com, Inc. (Worlds).

The lawsuit (Case 6:08-cv-00508) was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Tyler Division.

Matsushita, General Patent Strike Licensing Deal Involving Digital Output Transducer Patent

SUFFERN, N.Y., December 23, 2008 - General Patent Corporation (GPC), a leading patent licensing and enforcement firm, announced today on behalf of its client, Digital Technology Licensing LLC (DTL), that it has licensed a key cell phone patent to Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. of Osaka, Japan. Matsushita products are sold in the US under the Panasonic brand.

Nintendo, Nyko Settle Patent Dispute over "Nunchuk"

(12/17/08) - Nintendo of America and Nyko Technologies, Inc. announced that they have settled a patent infringement lawsuit brought by Nintendo, which held that Nyko's Kama wireless controller for the Nintendo Wii gaming system infringed on Nintendo's patent for its wired Nunchuk controller.

Nyko will continue to sell a redesigned version of the Kama controller under the agreement.

Spectrum Brands settles patent dispute with Energizer

(12/15/08) - Energizer Holdings Inc. dropped its patent infringement suit against Spectrum Brands, as the two companies settled the case earlier this month. The suit, filed in July, alleged that Spectrum infringed Energizer's patent on lithium batteries by importing lithium batteries from China and selling them under the Rayovac brand.
